There are 4 wine making regions with the status of Protected Geographical Indications (PGI) in the Republic of Moldova: Codru, Stefan-Voda, Valul lui Traian and Divin. The regions are governed by the PGI Wine Producers Association. All 4 PGIs are legally protected both in the Republic of Moldova and in the European Union.
IGP Ștefan Vodă
The terroir of the region is characterized by abundant sunlight, fertile soil stretching on the hills along the Dniester River and refreshing salty breeze coming from the Black Sea. All this makes a perfect combination with winemaking traditions that are passed from generations to generations.
